Terms of Service

Last updated: April 23, 2026

By creating an account or using Song of the Week (“SotW”), you agree to these terms. SotW is a small hobby project for sharing music with friends — please use it that way.

Accounts

You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. One person per account, please.

Acceptable use & suspension

Don’t use SotW to harass other users, submit illegal content, infringe copyright, post spam, or abuse the service or its infrastructure. We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any account, at our sole discretion and without notice, for any reason — including but not limited to conduct we consider abusive, harmful, illegal, or incompatible with the spirit of a small friends-only community. Banned users may have their submissions, comments, and ratings removed.

User content

You retain whatever rights you have in the links and text you post. By submitting content, you grant us the limited, non-exclusive right to display it within the app to members of the groups you belong to.

You are solely responsible for the content you submit, including ensuring you have the right to link to, comment on, or otherwise share it. We do not endorse, verify, or assume liability for any user-generated content, and we disclaim all liability for user-submitted content that is illegal, infringing, offensive, harmful, or otherwise objectionable. If you see something that violates these terms or the law, please contact us.

Third-party services

SotW links out to streaming services (Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, Bandcamp, SoundCloud) and may use their APIs. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We’re not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or behaviour.

No warranty

SotW is provided as-is and as-available, without warranty of any kind. The service may be unavailable, lose data, or change without notice. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of SotW.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via an in-app notice or email. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
